This plate is fixed to the inners. M4 screw pulls it into place. This simply tightens against the panel to hold the plastic door catch in place to stop it moving and the spring sits against this also.
the outer end of thr release cable also has to sit inside the hole of the bracket to stop it from pulling through and tensions the cable properly.
